Remix Culture

This day in age, remixing has become an outstandingly popular activity amongst the youth generations. If anyone was to look up on YouTube an official music video they would want to watch, along with the search results would be hundreds of remixes and spoofs of that video. These remixes are filled with a group or random friends just having fun and messing around with each other to entertain anyone that watches the video. If you take a step back and realize every time you and your group of friends are quoting lines from a movie and making one big laugh about it, it is the exact same thing people are doing in YouTube remixes with the only exception that it is not being posted to the world wide web. In some cases these remixes have been taken to a whole other level just like the " The Grand Rapids LipDub". This video was shot throughout the city including hundreds of people and dozens of acts which must have cost a sum of money. I think that video was absolutely great and it must have brought the whole community together, I have never seen anything like it in my life of "YouTubing".  The videos that Glenn posted actually put a smile to my face and they kept me interested in searching up more remix videos from around the world; possibly even creating my own. The only problem of creating a remix is the possibility of getting sued due to copyright issues. Many people on YouTube have been sued because their videos include songs that the record label did not want to be used in them. In my opinion, I do not think it should happen as much as it does because these videos are just made for fun and make other people laugh, getting sued does the complete opposite. But laws are laws and they need to be obeyed; so people can have fun and post things just as long as they know what to do so they do not get sued. SO KEEP REMIXING.... for our entertainment. =]
